A little info on the process.

Encaustic painting is an ancient medium and portraits have been discovered in tombs of Ancient Egypt.I use natural beeswax and pigments which are painted in layers. Each layer is fused using a plumbers gas torch and this creates the magic. I allow the process to dictate the outcome of each layer - sometines painting have up to 20 layers of wax and pigment.
