Dance the Shore - Encaustic medium

The ocean speaks volumes and has a unique dance and is pure expression in motion. Each wave uniquely meets land and dances the geeting  - sometimes caressing, often gentle  and also in a big storm, she thunders onto the land.

A little about the process.

Encaustic painting has been around since Ancient Egyptian times - paintings have been discovered in tombs - so this is not something new. For this reason it grabbed my senses and attention. I use natural beeswax and pigments - this is painted on in layers , which is then fused with fire. I also allow the process to dictate the outcome of the artpiece which makes each piece uniqely different.
